Saw Becky at a cafe in San Antonio recently , she was alone working on some stuff , I didn’t bother her but I appreciated to be in the presence of a legend

Coach Hammon was nervous in the beginning, but her tenacious character shows half way through her speech. She’s a leader and any organization would be lucky to have her.

Congrats to her, she did it the hard way, she earned it. Seeing coach Pop holding back tears watching like a proud father, I don’t know if anybody noticed, but David Robinson was sitting behind him and was tearing as well. Well done, and well deserved coach Hammond.

Um guys, this wasnt a tribute to pop. It was her very own acceptance speech where she thanked a lot of people, pop included.
I started folIowing basketball at age 7, around the same time NBC began broadcasting its games. I never knew Ahmad Rashad was a legendary football player with the Vikings til much later in life. Growing up, I only knew him as the sideline reporter for NBA on NBC & host of Inside Stuff. In fact, I do remember Ahmad playing for the Sixers on a one day contract when they opened the Target Center. He did a segment on that show highlighting his performance LOL
Did you ever watch the Cosby Show. Ahmad is married to the actress that played Clair Huxtable. He is also a brother in law in Debbie Allen
she deserves a shot to Head Coach a full season on a NBA team !
This year had one of the best classes ever.

I always had the notion that only retired people are inducted into the Hall…
I think it’s only players that need to be retired. I guess it makes sense for coaches to be inducted while they’re still coaching since waiting an extra 5 years from the point they retire could make it difficult for them to enjoy the moment due to old age or bad health. It would suck if most coaches only got to be inducted after they passed for example.
She was elected as a player not a coach and she is retired as a player.

Just seems early. She was a good player and shes proven that she could end up being an all time coach in the WNBA, maybe even have success as a NBA head coach. But shes so early in her head coaching career. The timing feels forced because Popp was going in and they were just hamming it up for the publicity which dimishes the moment just a bit. Still congrats to Becky and hope for her continued success
